LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Beside all the hiking, biking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, snowmobiling, snowshoe/cross country skiing of our surrounding areas, Park City offers all the world class amenities of an Olympic Host City. "Three Ski Resorts in One Town has fine dining and shopping on Historic Main Street or the shopping at the Outlet Mall near Interstate 80, movies, live theater, day spas, free bus system, festivals, cycle races, golf and much more. Heber City/Midway hosts Swiss Days and The Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Activities might include a ride on the "Heber Creeper" Heber Valley Railroad along the banks of the Deer Creek Reservoir or see the Soldier Hollow 2002 Olympic Games Venue and cross country ski, tube, horseback ride. SNOWMOBILE! Some of the best, western snowmobile terrain is just 8 miles up the road! Over 200 miles of State Park groomed trails lead you to huge bowls and spectacular views of mountains that climb to 10,000 feet. Recreation Ventures and Daytrips.com are two of the local rental shops that will deliver to the nearby Nobletts Trailhead for some pretty amazing groomed trails. Weather is always a factor you need to consider. Because we tend to get a fresh dusting of powder nearly every night and it covers the Cross Country Ski Trails, we recommend SNOWSHOES! We can point you in the direction of some beautiful trails that can only be accessed by Snowshoes. We have a couple of sets (male/female/child) that you are welcome to borrow. Let us know when you make your reservation if you are interested in using our snowshoes. Local Restaurants: The Gateway Grille: Located at the first stop light in Kamas, this delightful restaurant is the Innkeeper's pick for your evening dining. The menu varies as much as the patrons. You might see a cowboy at one table and a foreign businessman at another. and the food is fantastic- anything from hamburgers to a gourmet dish prepared by the chef. Yolk: Breakfast and lunch family dining with good old fashioned dishes and American sized portions. New Mexican Restaurant located in Kamas. Reviews later. Summit Inn Pizza and Ice Cream: This historic store front building once housed a quaint Kamas Inn, as the name suggests. It now serves up some of the best pizza around! Most of our guests will call ahead and run into Kamas and bring their pizza back to our dining room table. But there is a very nice dining room area at Summit Inn should you wish to stay "in town" to eat. Open till 9PM Mon-Sat. High Mountain Drug Store: Well known for it's old fashioned cafe atmosphere, you would expect to see young girls in poodle skirts flirting at the soda fountain bar. Hand dipped ice cream cones are a popular summer attraction. And if you ever yearn for the good old fashioned cheeseburger and fries, served on a paper tray, with a root beer float, Oh my goodness! Open till 8PM Mon-Sat. (Took "Best of State Hamburger in 2009!) The Bakery at Chevron: Best known for excellent donuts and bagels. Baked fresh every day on site!. |
